FEES

I believe that transparency is essential to building client relationships founded on trust, accountability, and mutual confidence. Clients deserve a clear understanding of what expertise are provided, how fees are structured, and how they align with their objectives. Every engagement begins with a clear discussion of fees, expectations, and deliverables so that clients can make informed decisions with confidence.

Three fee structures are used. Flat fees apply to clearly defined projects with a specific scope and timeline. These engagements may include developing a new collection strategy, conducting market research, evaluating opportunities within a particular collecting category, overseeing collection inventories, or providing specialized expertise. Flat fees allow clients to understand the full cost of a project in advance and provide clarity around deliverables and outcomes.

Broker fees are charged for transactional projects: acquisitions, sales, and artist commissions. In these situations, my role is to serve as an intermediary between the client and buyers, sellers, galleries, auction houses, artists, and other market participants. All fees are directly connected to the successful completion of a transaction from the initial research through the final execution of the deal.

Retainer agreements are available for clients seeking ongoing guidance. Under a monthly or annual retainer, clients receive continuous access to exclusive counsel, strategic planning, collection management support, market intelligence, and assistance with acquisitions, sales, and long-term collecting goals. Retainer arrangements provide flexibility and continuity, allowing for a deeper engagement with the client while delivering sustained, personalized counsel over time.

By being completely transparent in all fee arrangements, I hope to eliminate uncertainty, avoid conflicts of interest, and ensure that all guidance remains objective and client-centered.

My client relationships are typically structured as:

  • Annual retainers
  • Acquisition/Sale-based relationships
  • Long-term collection strategy relationships
